East Island Aviation Introduces NexGen Regional Boarding Ramp for EMB-170 Fleet

East Island Aviation Svcs, the exclusive manufacturer of the Regional Boarding Ramp (RBR) has introduced its NexGen RBR that is designed specifically for the EMB-170/75/90 fleet.

The RBR offers the most bridge-like experience for passengers going to or from a ground-level hold room. This next generation incorporates a gentler slope and a simpler operator control console.

The drive system has been upgraded and utilizes industry-standard components for faster & easier serviceability.  In addition to the EMB-170 fleet, the RBR is offered with an optional kit to service the B-737 and Airbus A319/20/21 fleets.

The new generation can also be fitted to meet Cat-IV hurricane codes if required.

Our 8’ full-width upper deck provides the safest work area for agents and passengers alike, and the operator console is now positioned to give the agent a full 100% unobstructed view to the aircraft.

And like before, there is still no foundation required, and input power remains at a mere 220vac w/30amp service.

Laramie Regional Airport – February 21st, 2025

Passengers at Laramie Regional Airport no longer have to face the snow and freezing temperatures when boarding or disembarking.

East Island Aviation Services has completed the installation of the next-generation Regional Boarding Ramp (RBR®), offering a fully enclosed, climate-controlled corridor connecting the terminal directly to the aircraft.

In collaboration with Woolpert/Jviation, who managed aircraft and equipment layouts and coordinated with airport management, this upgrade ensures a smooth, seamless experience for United Express passengers traveling to and from Denver International Airport.

East Island Aviation’s RBR® provides an affordable, effective alternative to conventional passenger boarding bridges, making it an ideal solution for regional airports with ground-level hold rooms.
